There are some key absences, and we have been encountering some technical difficulties with our communications, for which many apologies. Nevertheless, all being well, we shall look at four short plays: A Little Box of Oblivion by Stephen Bean Calling Time by Derek Webb Heaven’s Above by Diana Raffle A Separate Peace by Tom Stoppard In most cases these are “teaser” scripts, available free of charge to get a taste of the play. We shall therefore be reading extracts. Each play will be introduced by a different person, who will “cast” it on the spot. We should also like to provoke discussion, with a view to finding out what sort of play goes down well, what might be practical for FEATS 2024 – in short, what we should be aiming for. This is not by any means a shortlist. There is plenty of time to read more broadly before making a final choice. September/October should be seen as the deadline for announcing our selection.
