Discover and practice the age-old art of theatrical make-em-ups with a friendly group of English-speakers from all over the world.Explore the possibilities of your imagination by creating characters, environments and scenarios with your scene partners. Learn how to build a scene step-by-step by having trust in your fellow player and confidence in your own ideas. By listening, reacting, supporting and heightening your mental agility will be tested and your communication skills will improve. Hopefully. ScheduleWorkshops will be held on Thursdays, 6pm-8pm, in Tagora’s rehearsal room at the Palais de l’Europe in accordance with the school calendar, beginning October 9th and continuing through June. Signing upEmail Nikki at nikki@tagora.eu. Due to the nature of security at the Council, the list will be closed Monday October 6th, end of day. If you miss the Fall deadline, you have a second chance to join in after the New Year. The second semestre deadline is January 5th. Participants are welcome to come for a tester workshop, but one’s name must be on the security list in time. Regular participants must join the Amicale of the CoE, which costs €30 for external persons. See here for more about joining the Amicale. Otherwise, there is no fee to join the workshop. What to expectWe will do a round of introductions for newcomers, where if you have any personal boundaries to express you are encouraged to do so. (‘Yes, and…’ does not mean you have to say yes to everything.) Then we shake off the day and focus our minds on the present with physical and vocal warm ups, nothing too intense, and warm up games, like Zip-Zap-Zop. The latter part of each session is a toss up of long- and short- form games and exercises, scenework and form exploration, depending on the desires and tendencies of the group. Wear clothes you feel comfortable in. Keep your phones in your bags. Let the silliness begin! |
